Duty Teams/s Responsibilities Saturdays/Tuesdays Pennant

Two duty teams at home.

Team 1

  1. Before the game day find out what is required of you and where things are stored.
  2. Arrive at least 1 hour 45 minutes before the start of the game.
  3. Place the Non-smoking sign out at the entrance to the bridge.
  4. Raise the Australian and Pakenham bowling club flags (in bowls office) and hoist to full mast, the flags go in the following order: On the right is the Pakenham Flag, Middle is the Australian Flag and Left is the Victorian Flag.
  5. Turn on the scoreboard (right hand side, on back of scoreboard) – Get remotes from bowls office.
  6. Place mats, heavy weight jacks (stored in the Bowls Office), ditch & live bowl markers next to the allocated rinks that are being played on for that day. Mark the visitor practice rinks.
  7. Welcome the visiting team/s and point out the allocated practice rinks. (official welcome during break).
  8. Place corner flags in position at the ends of the green.
  9. Distribute bowls scoops at either ends of the greens, One between two rinks.
  10. Ensure cold water fountains are turned on.
  11. Put out tea bags, coffee, sugar, milk, cups, spoons on the serving surface of the kitchen hatch found in draws in kitchen.
  12. Bring out scoreboard remotes and check that the number of ends is set to zero. Replace batteries as required. Batteries are kept in the Bowls Office.
  13. Turn on the music system and check the level: Located near entrance door – Turn on Samsung Note, Turn on Power on system also Turn on Speaker switch. Login to Samsung Note, (it is slow be patient). Open Spotify app, when open, press play at bottom of screen to play music, check outside level, turn up or down as required.
  14. Turn on Raffle machine and work out how to use it, ask if not sure, Basket, machine and tickets are in the Bar. Make sure there are sufficient tickets. Bring raffle prizes from boardroom and set them up on the table opposite the bar.
  15. Prizes are:
    1. 1 x Bottle Red Wine
    1. 1 x Bottle White Wine
    1. 1 x Box of Chocolates
    1. 1 x Coles Voucher
  16. Place table markers (found on cabinet, near double doors) on tables to match rinks being played on. Arrange tables & chairs, side plates, cups from kitchen draws, & ready the table area in general.
  17. Help in food preparation with kitchen volunteers. Turn on dishwasher and make sure that it has water in it.

    Break

Team 2

  1. Sell raffle tickets and run the raffle. Return the raffle equipment to the bar. Place the money for the raffle beside the till.
  2. At the end of the break return all used items including crockery, cutlery to trolley/kitchen and put rubbish in bins and clean up rubbish and any spills/stains.
  3. At the end of the game put away the jacks, mats, ALL flags, jack/bowl ditch markers.
  4. Turn off scoreboard remotes and store them.
  5. Check with team manager/s and if they no longer require the scoreboard turn off the scoreboard.
  6. Bring in the Non-smoking sign from the entrance to the bridge and place inside the gate.
  7. Take down and bring in the flags and store them in the bowls office.
  8. Turn off the music system. – reverse of what you did to turn it on.
  9. Bring the scoops back to the car park end and bin any rubbish left behind. Empty the bins both inside and outside.
  10. Hang the mats on the hooks and make sure that the ditch & live bowl markers are back in place. Return the heavy weight jacks to the Bowls Office.
  11. Empty all bins into bins outside kitchen door.
  12. Return to kitchen area and load crockery/cutlery onto dishwasher crates, push into dishwasher and push START. Repeat as necessary, dry the cleaned items, and put them away in labelled drawers.
  13. Tidy and wipe tables both inside and outside.
