Crowley Day

Crowley Day 2019

CROWLEY DAY – 2019
Another very successful, fun day of bowls was enjoyed on the Pakenham greens last Sunday in commemoration and celebration of the wonderful contribution Theo and Beryl Crowley made to the club over many years. They were both life members, as is their son Gary who carries on the tradition (and is sponsor of the day).
As usual, bowlers came from near and far to take part in what has always been a light hearted and enjoyable event. Amongst others, it was great to see Gary’s nephew Peter Jonas turn out again in the old Pakenham “stars” shirt as well as Jacko’s mob from the Melbourne Demons and the usual push from Port Welshpool.
Gary and Peter did the right thing by keeping the speeches to a minimum and as usual Faye and Lesley provided great support behind the scenes. Well done also to tournament director, TMac and the other volunteers who put in on the day.
There were no losers on the day, however the lions’ share of the prize money was taken home by Jim Smith and his crew of Jill Naylor, Ray Naylor and John Van Vugt from Cardinia Waters.
